Definition of Electro-optics

Electro-optics is a branch of technology which deals with devices, components and systems which operate by modification of the optical properties of a material by an electric field. Electro-optics concerns the interaction between the electrical ( Electronic ) and Electromagnetic ( Optical ) states of materials.
